Research data management (RDM) can be a very broad and complex topic. However, depending on your goal, you may only be interested in certain aspects of RDM or you may need information on a specific topic that you are about to implement.

In this case, our thematic sections are probably a good starting point. These are self-contained units in which the most important information on central RDM topics is summarized.

Key Questions Storage

Planning storage solutions is important but complex, partly because storage requirements often change at different stages during the course of research projects. Here is an overview of the most important questions you should ask yourself while planning your storage solution, such as: What do you intend to store, for how long, and for what purpose? How do you ensure data security? What do you need to consider in terms of sensitive data?

There are many different storage solutions, but not each of them is equally applicable for all kinds of research data and in all phases of a research project. In this section you will get an overview of different means of digital storage as well as recommended storage solutions for different storage needs that are available at the UoC.

Data Organization

In order to store your research data properly, it is important to organize it sensibly and to provide meaningful documentation on the organization and the content of your data. There are a lot of different ways to do this according to different scenarios. Here you will find a number of suggestions on how to implement documentation and organization of your research data.
